So it’s December 2011 and it’s that time again. At the end of every year, I look back through the year to see what I’ve accomplished and what I have not accomplished. I also put some thought into what I would like to happen next year. The good ol’ New Year Resolutions. This is the time of year that you make glorious plans for the coming year, promising to do a million and one things which you don’t.
But it’s a cycle. The same thing over and over and over and over…. January arrives and you make a great start to get the ball rolling. February, March and April roll around and you’ve slacked off, making a promise to start again soon. May, June, July and August fly by and you’ve almost given up, but not quite. As soon as you get some stuff out of the way, you can get cracking. September, October and November appear and you can’t quite figure out where the time went. You’ve forgotten what it is that you were supposed to do! It’s now December and you’re sitting making your New Year resolutions… again.
What peeves me is when you’ve made so many plans, but then things don’t go according to plan or the plans change. Changing plans is my life story. I cannot remember one time, when things went according to plan. I would admit that there were times that I came very close, but it would be nice once in a while for things to be right on target. My only plan for 2012 is to continue doing what I’m doing. Because if you look at it, the only thing that changes is the dates on the calendar. There are always twelve months in a year, seven days a week, twenty-four hours in a day etc. The cycle.
Are you making New Year resolutions? Did you stick to the ones that you made last year? Can you even remember them?
