On the 2nd September 2011, I wrote and posted my first article on Odd Cents. It was an introductory post which was the beginning of a blog dedicated to providing personal finance and lifestyle tips. My earlier articles would give you an idea of my humble beginning as a writer. I look back at those articles now and I have to laugh – what was I thinking? It has been a great learning experience and I can say that I’ve definitely learnt from my mistakes and my writing has improved!
In the past year I’ve written over two hundred articles for the site with the aim of helping my readers achieve some success with their personal finances. I’ve participated in several activities such as writing guest posts for Daily Money Shot and the Debt Princess. I’ve also participated in Yakezie blog swaps and submitted some of my articles to a few personal finance carnivals.
However, it has not been a bed of roses. There were times when I felt a bit overwhelmed and almost fell victim to the proverbial “blogger burnout.” But thankfully, I was able to keep posting and re-group with new ideas. My posting schedule has changed, but my commitment to providing good advice on personal finance and lifestyle tips to readers has not. In fact, it has become stronger and I’m more focused on my goal.
If this is your first time visiting Odd Cents, then you’ve come to the right place to get personal finance and lifestyle tips. Personal finance is not only about money, but also about your lifestyle and how you live your life. It affects how you spend money and the types of things that you do and enjoy.
Bearing this in mind, I will create a comprehensive resource of personal finance and lifestyle articles which focus on several tops including:
- Basic personal finance tips
- Saving and investing
- Small business and entrepreneurship guides
- Health, beauty and exercise tips
- Frugal lifestyle tips
- Career and education guidance
- Retirement planning
Feel free to peruse the blog and enjoy the wealth of good, solid information that has been written for you. If there is something that you would like me to write about, please leave the information on the Contact page.
