Online banking has definitely changed the banking industry. Gone are the days of having to go into a bank or credit union to get information. I love online banking and my only regret is that I did not sign up sooner.
I love online banking because:
1. It’s convenient – I can check my accounts at any time of the day or night. I can be at work or at home and I have access to my information whenever I need it.
2. It’s cost-effective – I do not have to pay for statements or any other little services that add up. Most of the banks here in Barbados, offer free online banking services.
3. I can pay my credit cards online – This is a blessing. It is so easy for me to pay my bills online. I don’t have to take time off from work to pay these bills. I can do it as long as I have access to my computer and the Internet.
4. It saves time – By doing my transactions online, I do not have to wait in ridiculously long lines to see the teller. I have spent over an hour in a teller line, just to make a simple transaction!
I would admit that initially I was a non-believer and it took me a while to warm up to the idea. Just like most new things, it took some time to get used to. But now, I can say that online banking is a great invention.
