The library is one of my favourite places in the world. You see, I love to read. Give me a good novel or magazine and I can sit quietly for hours just reading. Here are four reasons why I love the library.
1. It’s free. That is a huge plus for such an institution. All you have to is walk in, sign up and you’re good to go. And if you’re an avid reader on a tight budget, you should definitely add the library to your life.
2. Wide variety of reading material. Comics, magazines, dictionaries, university texts, novels, pamphlets, journals, DVDs, CDs etc. are all available at your library! Before the internet boom, people visited the library to do research. In fact, I still visit the library for information when I’m doing projects for my MBA.
3. Classes. The libraries of today are competing many other institutions and activities. On Saturday mornings, the library in my area, gives free reading classes to children. Other libraries also have classes for adults. These classes include cooking, sewing, gardening and crafting.
4. Peace and quiet. If you’re looking for somewhere where you can relax in peace and quiet, the library is the place to be. You can read a book or magazine or listen to some music through your headphones without any interruptions.
